How to use dBm to assess if the signal is strong enough?

Generally, the ideal signal strength should be between -50 dBm and -60 dBm to ensure a stable connection and efficient communication. If the signal is below -70 dBm, the signal quality significantly degrades, which can affect the device's connection and speed. Below -85 dBm typically indicates a very weak signal that may not be able to maintain a connection.

Does a Wi-Fi outage or signal fluctuation lead to data loss on the device?

The device can only upload and save data when it is connected to the server. A short-term Wi-Fi interruption does not lead to data loss; the data is stored on the device and automatically uploaded to the cloud once the Wi-Fi connection is restored. If you cannot view the data, please first check whether the network connection is stable.

What is the after-sales service and warranty policy for the MARSTEK SATURN B2500-D?

The MARSTEK SATURN B2500-D comes with a 10-year warranty. If the product experiences quality issues within the warranty period, you can contact Marstek Energy's after-sales service team for repairs or replacement. It is recommended to keep your proof of purchase to provide relevant information if needed.

How do you ensure energy storage batteries function properly in winter?

At low temperatures, the activity of lithium batteries decreases, and discharge accelerates. To ensure optimal performance in winter, it is recommended to take the following measures:

1. Set the DOD (Depth of Discharge) to 50%. In extremely low temperatures (e.g., snowy days), it is recommended to set the DOD to 30% to ensure sufficient energy storage.

2. If the battery has not been charged for more than a week, it is recommended to stop discharging until the State of Charge (SOC) is above 90% before reactivating it.

3. For users with additional batteries, it is recommended to fully charge them, switch them off, and store them offline.

4. Avoid high discharge to prevent the battery from remaining at a low state of charge for extended periods.

5. Regularly check the photovoltaic panels, especially after heavy snowfall, to ensure they are not covered by snow and can provide normal power supply.

How to update the firmware version of the Saturn B2500-D?

To update the firmware version of the Saturn B2500-D, please follow these steps:

1. Open the app, go to "Settings" and select "Devices".

2. Click to check for the latest firmware version and follow the instructions to complete the update. If you have not received an update notification, please contact our after-sales service team via the "User Feedback" feature in the app and we will provide you with the latest version as soon as possible.

How does the Saturn B2500-D operate in different working modes?

The device has two operating modes:

1. Automatic mode: The device works in conjunction with smart meters on the same home network and adjusts the grid power output in real-time based on household electricity data to compensate for household load losses and ensure electricity demand is met.

2. Manual mode: The device provides a fixed grid power output within the timeframe set by the user. If no timeframe is set, the device will not output grid power.

Regardless of the mode, once the battery is full, the device will automatically feed excess photovoltaic energy into the grid.

What are the requirements for nominal voltage, nominal current, and power? How many solar modules can I install?

The rated voltage of the device is 59V, and the rated current is 13.5A. The B2500 offers two input specifications: 1000W and 1600W (New Version). Please read the user manual carefully and select suitable solar panels for installation. Ensure that the voltage and current do not exceed the rated values. Although the device has protection functions against overvoltage and overcurrent, exceeding the rated values can lead to damage or safety risks. If you need to connect more than two solar panels, you can consider using a "Y" cable.

How do you choose the solar panel configuration?

When choosing the configuration for solar panels, the rated voltage (59V) and rated current (13.5A) of the device should be taken into account.

1. Series Configuration: Connect the positive and negative terminals of multiple solar panels together. The voltage adds up, but the current remains the same. Make sure that the total voltage does not exceed the rated voltage of the device.

2. Parallel Configuration: Connect the positive terminals and the negative terminals of multiple solar panels together. The current adds up, but the voltage remains the same. Make sure that the total current does not exceed the rated current of the device (13.5A).

Disclaimer

The projected savings of up to €1,074 per year for the system shown (6 solar modules & 4 MARSTEK B2500-D batteries) is based on a model-based extrapolation under optimal conditions.

1. System Configuration

  • Solar Modules: 6 highly efficient PV modules.
  • Battery Capacity: 4 units MARSTEK B2500-D.
  • Daily Usable Capacity: approx. 8.96 kWh (based on double the capacity of the basic unit of 4.48 kWh).

2. Calculation Basis

The calculation is based on the annual energy generation and the current average electricity price:

  • Annual Generation: approx. 2,688 kWh (equivalent to 1,344 kWh per basic system × 2).
  • Electricity Price Reference: €0.40/kWh (incl. taxes and duties).
  • Formula: 2,688 kWh × €0.40/kWh = €1,075.20 (rounded down to €1,074 in the graphic).

3. Important Assumptions

To achieve these maximum savings, the following parameters were assumed:

  • Self-consumption rate: Nearly 100%. All generated and stored solar power is consumed directly in the household.
  • Optimal Conditions: Ideal orientation and tilt of the 6 solar modules, and no shading during daylight hours.
  • Seasonal Variability: The generation of 8.96 kWh per day is an average value that fluctuates depending on the season and weather conditions.

Legal Notices (Germany)

To benefit from the simplified regulations for plug-in generation units according to § 8 para. 5a EEG, the following limits apply:

  • The total installed PV power may not exceed 2,000 Wp.
  • The inverter apparent power must be ≤ 800 VA.

If your system exceeds these limits, the regular requirements of the grid operator apply. This may include, among other things, extended registration, meter modification, or formal approval procedures. Please inform yourself about the locally applicable regulations before installation.

Registration & Installation:

Plug & Play solar systems can generally be installed and connected independently in Germany. Registration in the Market Master Data Register (MaStR) is legally mandatory (www.marktstammdatenregister.de). Registration with the grid operator has been significantly simplified or partially automated by Solar Package I.
